Who We Are
The Centre for Agribusiness Training and Education (CATE) is the result of a study undertaken by the Agriculture Council of Saskatchewan Inc. and funded by the JobStart Future Skills Sector Partnership Program of Saskatchewan Learning. The final report, Human Resource Skills Needs Assessment for Primary Agriculture Production Sector, completed in January 2003, identified a need to connect those seeking training in agriculture and agribusiness to available training programs.
To address this need, a Steering Committee with representatives from: the agriculture industry; training institutions; Saskatchewan Agriculture, Food and Rural Revitalization; Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations; Saskatchewan Ministry of Eduction; and ACS developed and are in the process of implementing a pilot project for the establishment of a Centre for Agribusiness Training and Education (CATE).
CATE consists of this website and a toll-free CATE Line for those who may not have access to the Internet or need assistance in finding specific training information. Call to speak to someone who can help you.
The information provided by users of CATE will enhance the ability of training institutions to respond to the needs of those in the agriculture industry.
Funding for the website and CATE Line pilot project is provided by the Canadian Adaptation and Rural Revelopment in Saskatchewan (CARDS) Program and Saskatchewan Ministry of Education.
