How to Use This Site

Welcome to the Centre for Agribusiness Training and Education (CATE).

Success in any agricultural enterprise depends upon many factors. By connecting you to agricultural training opportunities, we can help increase your potential for success. The Centre for Agribusiness Training and Education (CATE) links agricultural and agribusiness producers, managers, employers, employees and students to current information on agricultural training opportunities in Saskatchewan and beyond.

In the "Courses" page, begin your search by choosing a category of interest to you. You can narrow your search further by choosing sub-categories. A list of courses will appear with the course title and type, description, name of institution, course location, and you can see if the course is part of a certificate or degree program. Add the courses you are considering to a "course shortlist" which will be saved for you for some time if you register before leaving the site. You can also search by course title, location or by institution. Registration is handled by the institution offering the course.

See our "Definitions" section if you need an explanation of terms used on this site. You will find what we mean when we say, "online learning", "distance education", "learner-directed", "computer assisted instruction" and more.

The choice of courses offered by institutions depends upon them knowing as much as possible about their audiences their interests. Please take a moment to tell us a bit about yourself, make suggestions about what you want offered, and ask questions about courses if things are not clear to you; we make it easy for you to send a question by e-mail about a specific course. If you still want more information, we also provide links to key contact people at each training institution.

If you have a question about how to use this site or cannot find what you are looking for, call the toll-free CATE Line to speak to someone who can help you. People who do not have access to the Internet may also phone the CATE Line.

You may be eligible for bursaries, scholarships or student loan programs. See the Financial Assistance page for more information.

Funding for the website and CATE Line pilot project is provided by the Canadian Adaptation and Rural Development in Saskatchewan (CARDS) Program and Saskatchewan Learning.
